
Dr. Rekha Timalsina is an academic and researcher in the field of nursing. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Patan Academy of Health Sciences in Lalitpur, Nepal. Dr. Timalsina earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science from Prince of Songkla University in Thailand, and she also holds multiple Master’s degrees in Nursing, Psychology, and Sociology from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.
Dr. Timalsina has had a successful career with important roles in nursing education and clinical practice. She specializes in gerontological nursing, disaster mental health, and resilience, with a strong focus on the psychological well-being of older adults. Her research has resulted in numerous publications in esteemed international and national journals and has been acknowledged through various grants and awards.
Dr. Timalsina actively participates in research committees and mentoring roles, shaping the future of nursing research and education. She has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences, making significant contributions to the field of nursing science. Some of her notable research projects include the development of the Scale of Self-Compassion for Nepalese Older Adults and studies on resilience among disaster survivors. Dr. Timalsina’s dedication to improving geriatric care and advancing the field of nursing is evident in her contributions to nursing education and research through innovative research and teaching.
