It is my privilege to introduce you to NIAH, a pioneering not-for-profit organization founded in 2024 with a vision to enhance the understanding of ageing and improve the well-being of older adults in Nepal. Our mission is driven by the recognition of the critical need for comprehensive care and advanced research in ageing, especially as Nepal’s ageing population continues to grow.

At NIAH, we are committed to leading the way in ageing research and healthcare services. Our dedicated team of highly qualified professionals, actively engaged in research and social welfare, brings together diverse expertise from the fields of geriatric medicine, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, data science and machine learning, medical and social sciences, and academia. This dynamic group, including several MDs and PhDs, is at the forefront of our efforts to conduct and support wide-ranging research, from understanding the risk factors of diseases and age-related conditions to disease diagnosis, treatment, and care. Our goal is to establish a benchmark for ageing research in Nepal and make a direct impact on clinical care.

Community engagement and awareness are vital to our work. Through campaigns, seminars, and events, we aim to educate the public, dispel misconceptions about ageing, and promote active lifestyles.
